County-wide meeting on the GRIT project which stands for Growing Rural Independence Through Jobs. The meeting will be held June 8th at 7:00 p.m. in the Dining Commons at Southern Hills Career and Technical Center on Hamer Road, Georgetown. A meal will be available from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The GRIT project is centered on helping individuals find their strengths and abilities in order to meet the demands of the job market. For the last three years, the Brown County Educational Service Center has collaborated with school districts and the business community in addressing employment skills needed in the workplace under this project’s umbrella.
As an individual who has a stake in our county, we hope you will join us in learning about the project and help us brainstorm ideas to continue to aid the citizens of the county as they seek viable employment opportunities.
The GRIT Project builds hope in rural Ohio by growing the economic prosperity of the region. The project supports young adults age 14-24 and adults who are unemployed or underemployed in getting the education and training needed to secure living-wage jobs within their community.
